The HUBBELL KILLARK TA17 is a Form 7, TA-style iron conduit body designed for use with IMC and rigid metal conduit systems in 1/2 inch trade size applications. Constructed from iron with a gray finish, this oval-shaped body provides a 6.20 cubic centimeter internal volume for conductor management and splicing. At 5-11/16 inches overall length, it is a compact fitting built to handle the demands of industrial and hazardous-location electrical installations. Licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians specify this type of fitting where raceway access points are required in classified or wet environments.
The TA17 conduit body is rated for use in hazardous and wet locations, making it suitable for oil refineries, chemical processing facilities, wastewater treatment plants, food and beverage production areas, and similar environments where moisture ingress or ignitable atmospheres are a concern. It is used in Class I Division 2 hazardous location wiring systems per NEC Article 501.10(b), as well as in Class II and Class III installations per NEC Articles 502.10 and 503.10. This fitting is appropriate for both new construction and maintenance work on IMC or rigid iron conduit systems.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch trade size IMC and rigid metal conduit systems. Suitable for hazardous and wet location raceway installations meeting NEC Article 501.10(b), 502.10, and 503.10 requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before opening or working within any conduit body. Ensure all conduit connections are wrench-tight and that the cover and gasket are properly seated when used in wet or hazardous locations. Do not exceed the conductor fill capacity of 6.20 cubic centimeters as required by NEC Article 314.
