The HORN RU114009400TN35 is a solid carbide grooving insert from the Series U114 product line, designed for external grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 0.094 inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.157 inches, making it well suited for narrow, precise groove profiles. A TiN (titanium nitride) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert uses a positive rake geometry and is held in place by a screw clamping method, providing rigid, repeatable positioning for production machining applications. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and toolroom technicians.

This insert is intended for use in applications requiring consistent groove width and depth control on turning equipment. The U114 series insert geometry supports universal workpiece material compatibility, covering cast iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys as indicated by material codes K, M, N, P, and S. It is a right-hand configuration insert. The screw-on holding method allows fast indexing during production runs.
