The HORN RU105084618T125 is a solid carbide face grooving tool designed for internal face grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The tool features a 0.046 inch projection (groove width) and accepts a minimum hole diameter of 0.315 inches, making it suited for small-bore internal applications. Overall length is 0.984 inches with a maximum hole depth capacity of 0.394 inches. Solid carbide construction delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding interrupted-cut and finishing passes. Machinists and CNC operators handling precision turned components in production environments are the primary users of this tooling.
This face grooving tool is intended for use in internal bore applications where a groove must be cut perpendicular to the bore axis - common in hydraulic fittings, pneumatic valve bodies, seal pockets, and precision machined housings. Its compact overall length and defined minimum hole diameter make it a fit for small-diameter, shallow-depth grooving work on production turning equipment. It is not a through-bore or OD grooving tool.
Designed as a face grooving insert or tooling unit compatible with HORN system toolholders accepting the RU10 series. Confirm holder compatibility and machine turret specifications before ordering.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the CNC program is in a safe state before changing or indexing tooling. Verify tool projection and runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow the machine builder and tooling manufacturer guidelines for torque on clamping screws - do not overtighten carbide tooling.
