The HORN R114025000TH35 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the Series 114 platform, this right-hand insert carries the TH35 grade designation, a fine-grain carbide substrate suited for a broad range of workpiece materials. At 0.531 inches overall length, it is engineered for screw-clamped toolholders within the Series 114 system. The insert delivers a maximum depth of cut of 4.00 millimeters, making it appropriate for shallow groove profiles and cutoff work where tight tolerances and surface finish consistency are required by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This grooving insert is intended for use in production turning environments, including job shops and high-volume machining cells where insert-style tooling is standard practice. Its universal primary workpiece material classification covers cast iron, steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous alloys, and superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups K, M, N, P, and S. Machinists working across diverse material portfolios will find this insert adaptable without requiring grade changes for many common applications. It is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of two units.
Designed for use with Series 114 screw-clamp grooving toolholders. Compatible with workpieces in ISO material groups K, M, N, P, and S as indicated by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state before insert change. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket before engaging the clamping screw, and confirm the insert is flush and secure prior to resuming operation. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris at each change interval. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque guidance for the clamping screw, as overtightening can fracture the carbide insert.
