The HORN R114011000TH35 is a solid carbide grooving insert engineered for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the Series 114 platform, this right-hand insert features a TH35 carbide grade and is held in the toolholder via a screw-clamping method for repeatable, rigid positioning. With an overall length of 0.531 inches (13.50 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 4.00 mm, it is sized for accurate, controlled grooving work. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production turning environments rely on this geometry for consistent groove quality across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for use across a broad range of workpiece materials, classified under universal primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S. These codes correspond to cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, steel, and heat-resistant superalloys, making this insert adaptable to general-purpose and specialty turning applications. It is typically installed in Series 114 HORN grooving toolholders and is intended for use in both production turning and maintenance machining environments by skilled CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.
Designed for use with Series 114 HORN grooving toolholders. Compatible with workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder seat per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for debris or damage before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when indexing or replacing inserts.
