The HORN R105NP1826 TN35 is a single point threading insert designed for internal thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 60-degree profile angle and handles thread pitches from 18 to 27 threads per inch (TPI), making it suitable for a range of standard unified and metric-equivalent thread forms. The insert cuts to a depth of 0.591 inches and has an overall length of 1.181 inches. With a minimum threading diameter of 0.236 inches, it is suited for small-bore internal threading work. Both left-hand and right-hand thread directions are supported. The insert weighs approximately 0.025 pounds.
This threading insert is used in precision machining environments including job shops, production turning facilities, and maintenance shops where internal thread generation is required. It is typically installed in a compatible HORN toolholder system. The small minimum bore diameter and controlled projection from center of 0.130 inches make it well suited for tight-clearance internal threading applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists working with fine-pitch threads in the 18-27 TPI range will find the 60-degree profile appropriate for unified thread standards.
Designed for use with compatible HORN toolholder systems that accept the R105NP1826 TN35 insert geometry for internal single point threading operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for insert seating and clamping torque. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before installing or replacing the insert. Verify thread direction setting on the machine control matches the insert orientation before initiating a threading cycle. Follow standard shop safety practices when handling carbide inserts due to sharp cutting edges.
