The HORN R105454525TN35 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a right-hand cutting direction and a TiN (titanium nitride) finish coating that extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The bar has a minimum bore diameter of 0.197 inches, a maximum bore depth of 0.591 inches, and an overall length of 1.378 inches. A corner radius of 0.008 inches provides a controlled edge geometry suited to tight-tolerance finish boring. This tool is sized for small-bore applications and is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals working in production or precision job shop environments.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal turning in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where rigid tooling and consistent geometry are required. The 4.70 mm shank diameter and 35.00 mm overall length make it appropriate for Swiss-style machines, micro-turning setups, and compact turret toolholders. The TiN coating supports higher surface speeds and reduces built-up edge in a range of workpiece materials. It is packaged individually and sold in multiples of ten units.
Designed for use in toolholders and boring heads accepting a 4.70 mm shank diameter, typical in Swiss-style lathes, CNC turning centers, and precision micro-boring setups requiring a minimum bore diameter of 0.197 inches.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter boring tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe indexed position before installing or adjusting the boring bar. Verify shank seating and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.591 inches to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
