The HORN R105184057 TN35 is a solid carbide profile boring bar designed for internal profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.268 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.181 inches, this bar handles tight-bore finish work where rigidity and precision matter. The TN35 grade designation indicates a titanium nitride finish coating, which improves wear resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 1.378 inches overall length and a 0.008 inch corner radius, this tool is suited for close-tolerance internal contour work. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users.
This boring bar is intended for precision internal profiling in production and toolroom environments. It fits turning centers and CNC lathes that accept a 5.20 mm shank. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation for most horizontal turning setups. Applications include finish boring of small-diameter bores in steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the primary requirements. The compact overall length makes it well-suited to short-reach, small-bore applications where larger tooling cannot reach or maintain rigidity.
Designed for use in CNC lathes and turning centers that accept a 5.20 mm round shank boring bar. Intended for right-hand cutting setups with standard spindle rotation.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a full stop, locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the shank is properly seated and clamped in the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before running. Verify bore diameter and depth clearance before cycling the spindle. Do not exceed the tool's rated minimum bore diameter, as contact with the bore wall can cause tool breakage in solid carbide tooling.
