The HORN R105182335TH35 is a solid carbide profile boring bar designed for precision internal turning and profiling operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built to a right-hand cutting direction, it reaches a minimum bore diameter of 0.197 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.787 inches. The 4.00 mm shank diameter and 40.00 mm overall length (1.5748 inches) make it well suited for small-bore work where rigidity and reach must be balanced. An AlTiN finish coating protects the carbide substrate against heat and wear in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary end users.
This profile boring bar is applied in production turning environments where small-diameter internal profiles, grooves, or contoured bores are required. The TH35 carbide grade is paired with an AlTiN coating to handle a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials at elevated cutting speeds. The 0.008 inch corner radius provides a controlled blend between profiled surfaces, reducing stress concentrations in finished bores. It is a practical choice for aerospace, medical, and precision mechanical component work where tight bore tolerances are standard.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling component for CNC lathes and machining centers accepting a 4.00 mm shank boring bar in right-hand orientation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully powered down and all axes locked before inserting or removing boring bars from the tool turret or holder. Verify shank clamp torque against the toolholder manufacturer specification and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.787 inches, as overreaching the bar beyond its rated depth can cause deflection and tool breakage.
