The HORN R105103366TH35 is a solid carbide profile boring bar designed for internal profile machining in tight-bore applications. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a minimum bore diameter of 0.236 inches, and a maximum bore depth of 1.378 inches. The TH35 grade carbide substrate is coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. With an overall length of 0.984 inches and a shank diameter of 5.40 mm, this bar fits compact toolholding setups common in CNC turning and boring operations. A 0.008-inch corner radius supports controlled profile generation with minimal chatter.
This profile boring bar is suited for CNC lathe and turning center operations requiring small-bore internal profiling. It is appropriate for job shops, production machining environments, and toolroom applications where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required in small-diameter bores. The AlTiN coating makes it a practical choice for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions in steel, stainless, and cast iron workpieces.
Designed as a profile boring bar for use in toolholding systems accepting a 5.40 mm shank diameter, suitable for CNC turning centers and lathes configured for right-hand internal boring operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before installing or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder to the specified clamping torque recommended by the toolholder manufacturer - do not rely on values not provided with this tooling. Verify bore clearance and runout before initiating a cutting pass.
