The HONEYWELL COMMERCIAL SECURITY SIGNO20NOSDP is an HID Signo series mullion-mount smart card reader with OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol) communication. Designed for access control applications, this reader mounts to narrow mullion surfaces and communicates with access control panels over a secure, bidirectional RS-485 data link using the OSDP protocol. The OSDP interface supports supervised communication, which allows the panel to detect tampering or wiring faults in real time. Licensed security integrators and access control technicians are the primary installers of this device.
The SIGNO20NOSDP is suited for commercial and enterprise access control deployments where mullion mounting is required due to door frame or space constraints. Typical installation scenarios include interior doors, server rooms, office suites, and other controlled-entry points where a full-size reader housing is not practical. The HID Signo platform supports multiple credential technologies, making it compatible with modern contactless smart card ecosystems used in commercial security infrastructure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation mullion smart card reader for commercial access control systems supporting OSDP over RS-485 communication.
Installation should be performed by a licensed security systems integrator or low-voltage technician in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 731 guidelines for access control wiring. Power down the access control panel and associated low-voltage circuits before wiring the reader to prevent damage to the panel or reader electronics. Secure all RS-485 data wiring per the panel manufacturer specifications and verify supervised communication status at the panel after installation. Do not apply line voltage to this device.
