The HOMEWERKS WORLDWIDE LLC 7228-16-12-2 is a lead-free faucet connector designed for residential and light commercial plumbing supply line installations. It connects a 1/2 inch compression fitting on one end to a 1/2 inch Female Iron Pipe (FIP) thread on the other, with a flexible 16 inch reinforced poly vinyl chloride (PVC) body. The reinforced construction resists kinking under cabinet conditions. This connector is certified to meet California AB1953 and Vermont VT S152 low-lead requirements, with wetted surfaces containing less than 0.25 percent lead by weight, making it safe for potable water use.
This connector is suited for faucet supply line hookups in residential kitchens, bathrooms, and utility sinks. It bridges the shutoff valve outlet to the faucet inlet in standard under-sink installations. The 16 inch length accommodates typical residential rough-in dimensions without requiring additional extensions. Plumbers and experienced DIYers install this type of connector during faucet replacements, new fixture installations, or supply line upgrades where the existing lines are corroded or undersized.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement faucet connector for standard residential and light commercial supply line applications using 1/2 inch compression shutoff valves and 1/2 inch FIP faucet inlets.
A licensed plumber or qualified installer should shut off the water supply at the main or local angle stop before replacing a faucet connector. Hand-tighten the compression fitting first, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten, as excess force can crack the fitting body. Verify the FIP threads are clean and apply thread seal tape to prevent weeping at the faucet connection. After installation, slowly restore water pressure and inspect both ends for leaks before closing the cabinet.
