The HOLO-KROME 76730 is an M8 x 1.25 metric hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength mechanical fastening in demanding industrial and trade applications. Manufactured from alloy steel at a material grade of 12.9, this screw delivers exceptional tensile strength suitable for critical clamping and assembly work. The black oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection on exposed fasteners. At 130 mm in length under the head with partial threading, the 76730 is engineered for through-bolt and tapped-hole applications where a defined grip length is required. Installation is driven by a standard hex socket tool. Machinists, millwrights, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers.
The HOLO-KROME 76730 is suited for mechanical assemblies, machine frames, equipment enclosures, and structural fixtures where a high-grade metric cap screw is specified. The M8 x 1.25 thread pitch and 130 mm under-head length make it a common choice in both OEM manufacturing and field maintenance scenarios. It meets ANSI B1.13M, ISO 4762, and ISO 898-1 standards, making it appropriate for applications where fastener certification is required by engineering specification or maintenance documentation.
Designed as an OEM-style and maintenance replacement metric cap screw for mechanical assemblies, equipment frames, and fixtures specifying an M8 x 1.25 partially threaded hex socket cap screw at grade 12.9.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic, millwright, or mechanical contractor using a properly sized hex socket driver or allen wrench. De-energize and lock out all equipment before fastener service on live machinery. Do not substitute a lower-grade fastener where grade 12.9 is specified by engineering documentation, as doing so reduces joint clamping force and may compromise structural integrity. Thread engagement depth should conform to the applicable engineering drawing or a minimum of 1.0 times the nominal thread diameter per general fastener practice.
