The HOLO-KROME 76483 is a metric hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications in industrial, mechanical, and equipment assembly work. This fastener carries an M16 x 2.00 thread size with a 180 mm length under the head and is partially threaded, allowing it to function as a shoulder-style grip fastener in precision assemblies. Manufactured from alloy steel at material grade 12.9, it delivers the tensile strength required for demanding clamping loads. The black oxide coating provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces galling during installation. Installed with a hex socket drive, it suits torque-wrench applications where controlled clamping force is critical.
This screw is suited for machinery maintenance, equipment fabrication, die and mold assembly, structural mechanical joints, and general industrial fastening where a high-strength metric cap screw is specified. The partial thread configuration makes it appropriate for applications requiring a smooth shank section to locate or guide mating components. Typically installed by millwrights, maintenance technicians, or mechanical assemblers in manufacturing and industrial environments. It conforms to ANSI B1.13M, DIN 912, ISO 4762, and ISO 898-1 fastener standards.
Designed as an OEM-style and aftermarket replacement metric cap screw for industrial machinery, equipment assemblies, and fabricated structures requiring an M16 x 2.00 grade 12.9 hex socket fastener per DIN 912 or ISO 4762.
Installation should be performed by qualified mechanical technicians or millwrights familiar with metric fastener torque requirements for grade 12.9 hardware. De-energize and lock out equipment before replacing or installing structural fasteners per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate hex socket bit to achieve consistent clamp load. Do not substitute a lower-grade fastener in any application originally specified for grade 12.9 hardware.
