The HOLO-KROME 72432 is a heavy-duty hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications in industrial, mechanical, and trade service environments. It features a 1-1/2-6 UNC thread size and measures 4.5 inches in length under the head, with partial threading along the shank. The drive is a 1-inch internal hex socket, requiring an appropriately sized hex key or socket driver. Constructed from alloy steel with a black oxide finish, this fastener offers solid corrosion resistance and meets ASME B18.3 and ASTM A574 standards. It is suited for applications where high tensile strength and precise torque control are required.
This cap screw is commonly used in heavy machinery assembly, structural fastening, and equipment manufacturing where large-diameter, high-strength fasteners are specified. The 1-1/2-6 UNC coarse thread pattern is well suited for applications involving thick steel plates, frames, or cast components. Machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers. The partial threading provides a bearing surface along the shank, making it appropriate for shear-load applications as well as standard tension fastening.
Designed as an OEM-style and aftermarket replacement hex socket cap screw for industrial machinery, structural assemblies, and mechanical equipment requiring 1-1/2-6 UNC large-diameter fasteners per ASME B18.3 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified millwright, machinist, or industrial maintenance technician using a calibrated torque wrench and the correct 1-inch hex drive tool. Always confirm thread engagement and verify that mating threads are clean and free of damage before installation. Follow applicable ASME or equipment manufacturer torque specifications for the fastener grade and joint material. De-energize and lock out all equipment per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures before servicing any mechanical assembly.
