The HOLO-KROME 08145 is a heavy-duty alloy steel shoulder screw designed for precision mechanical assemblies where accurate shaft alignment, pivot points, or bearing retention is required. The 0.75 inch shoulder diameter and 4.75 inch shoulder length provide a ground, close-tolerance bearing surface that supports rotational or sliding components. The 5/8-11 UNC threaded end measures 0.875 inches in length and draws the screw tight against the mating component. The rounded head measures 1 inch in diameter and 0.5 inches in height and accepts a 3/8 inch hex socket drive for installation. This fastener suits mechanical technicians, machinists, and maintenance professionals working on jigs, fixtures, linkages, and conveyor systems.
Shoulder screws of this size class are commonly used in industrial and commercial mechanical assemblies where a hardened, ground shank acts as a precision pin or pivot. Typical applications include die and fixture construction, linkage pivots, cam followers, and guided-slide assemblies. The Grade 8 alloy steel construction makes it suitable for high-load or high-cycle environments where a softer fastener would wear prematurely. The uncoated finish is standard for applications where dimensional tolerance is critical and added coating thickness would affect fit.
Designed as a standard shoulder screw conforming to ASME B18.3 for use in mechanical assemblies requiring a 3/4 inch diameter precision shoulder and 5/8-11 UNC threaded engagement.
Installation is performed by millwrights, machinists, or maintenance mechanics using a 3/8 inch hex key or socket driver. De-energize and lock out all machinery before installing or removing shoulder screws in live assemblies. Ensure the mating bore is sized to the shoulder diameter tolerance specified in ASME B18.3 to achieve correct fit. Do not use impact drivers, as over-torquing can damage the threaded bore or distort the shoulder fit.
