The HOLO-KROME 08136 is an alloy steel shoulder screw designed for precision mechanical assemblies requiring a hardened, close-tolerance cylindrical bearing surface. The shoulder diameter measures 0.75 inches with a shoulder length of 2.75 inches, providing a reliable pivot or guide pin surface in jigs, fixtures, linkages, and die sets. The threaded end is 5/8-11 UNC with a 0.875-inch thread length. Drive is via a 3/8-inch hex socket in a rounded head measuring 1 inch in diameter and 0.5 inches in height. Overall length is 4.125 inches. This fastener is manufactured to ASME B18.3 and ASME B1.1 standards. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and mechanical maintenance professionals.
The 08136 shoulder screw is suited for industrial and commercial machinery applications where a smooth, unthreaded shoulder must serve as a bearing, pivot, or alignment surface. Typical uses include cam followers, connecting rod pivots, die button retention, and fixture locating pins. The uncoated finish is appropriate for controlled environments or where secondary surface treatment will be applied. The Grade 8 alloy steel construction provides high tensile strength and shear resistance for demanding mechanical loading conditions.
Designed as a standard ASME B18.3 shoulder screw for use in mechanical assemblies, fixtures, jigs, and tooling requiring a 3/4-inch shoulder diameter with a 5/8-11 UNC threaded end.
Installation is performed by machinists or mechanical maintenance technicians using a 3/8-inch hex key or socket driver. De-energize and lock out all equipment before servicing any assembly containing this fastener. Ensure the mating bore is machined to the appropriate tolerance class for the intended shoulder fit before installation. Do not use impact drivers on socket head shoulder screws, as this risks galling the drive recess or overloading the thread.
