The HOLO-KROME 08004 is a hex socket shoulder screw manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel with an uncoated finish. The shoulder measures 0.25 inches in diameter and 0.5 inches in length, with a 3/8-inch (0.375 inches) thread length cut to a 10-24 UNRC thread standard. The rounded head measures 3/8 inches in diameter and 3/16 inches in height, yielding an overall length of 1.063 inches. A 1/8-inch hex socket drive provides positive torque engagement during installation. This fastener is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and assembly professionals in precision mechanical applications where a hardened, close-tolerance shoulder is required for locating, pivoting, or guided-motion functions.
The HOLO-KROME 08004 is suited for light-industrial and precision mechanical assemblies where the shoulder serves as a bearing surface, guide pin, or pivot point. Typical applications include fixture building, linkage assemblies, conveyor components, and panel-mount hardware where a consistent shoulder diameter and thread engagement are critical to function. The uncoated alloy steel construction is appropriate for indoor mechanical environments or applications where a secondary coating or plating will be applied after assembly. This screw meets ASME B1.1 and ASME B18.3 dimensional standards.
Designed as a standard ASME B18.3 hex socket shoulder screw for use in any mechanical assembly requiring a 0.25 inch shoulder diameter and 10-24 UNRC threaded engagement.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or mechanical technician using a 1/8 inch hex key or socket driver. De-energize and lock out any equipment before installing or removing fasteners in live assemblies. Apply thread-locking compound or appropriate preload torque per the assembly design specification. Do not substitute this screw in structural or safety-critical load paths without verifying the design torque and material requirements.
