The HERTEL MR34-0724.406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 1.84 mm (0.0724 inches) and a four-flute spiral design, it delivers consistent, tight-tolerance results in small-diameter bores. The bright, uncoated carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding finish-reaming work. Overall length is 50 mm (1.969 inches) with a 10 mm flute length. Diameter tolerance is held to 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, making this tool appropriate for close-fit applications where bore accuracy is critical.
This reamer is used in production and job-shop environments where small-diameter holes require a controlled, repeatable finish. It is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill press setups where chucking-style straight-shank tooling is standard. The left-hand spiral flute geometry assists with chip evacuation while the right-hand cutting direction follows conventional machining practice. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working with sub-2 mm bore diameters will find this tool appropriate for final finishing passes.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in straight-shank toolholders, collet chucks, and drill chucks accommodating sub-2 mm diameter tooling in CNC and manual machine applications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolmakers familiar with small-diameter reaming procedures. Secure the straight shank fully in a concentric, properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout before beginning a finishing pass. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to protect the cutting edges and maintain bore quality. Do not use this reamer for stock removal beyond its intended finish-reaming allowance, as carbide tooling at this diameter is susceptible to breakage under excessive side load.
