The HERTEL MR34-0689.406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1.75 mm reamer diameter and a tight tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool delivers accurate, repeatable bore sizing in production and toolroom environments. The spiral flute geometry with left-hand spiral direction promotes smooth chip evacuation while the right-hand cutting action keeps the tool tracking true in the bore. A straight shank allows direct mounting in standard collet chucks and drill press or CNC machine tool holders used by machinists and tooling technicians.
This chucking reamer is suited for finish-reaming small-diameter holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials in both job-shop and production settings. The 50 mm overall length and 10 mm flute length make it appropriate for shallow to moderate hole depths typical of precision component work. The bright, uncoated solid carbide construction performs well in applications where coating buildup or contamination is a concern, and where dimensional accuracy is the primary requirement.
Designed as a standard straight-shank chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, drill presses, and lathes equipped with collet or drill chuck toolholding systems accepting small-diameter straight-shank tools.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with small-diameter reamer handling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck to prevent runout that can affect bore tolerance. Do not force the reamer into an undersized hole; pre-drill or bore to the appropriate sub-size before reaming.
