The HERTEL H95006126 is a No. 27 wire gauge jobber-length drill bit designed for holemaking in metal and general shop applications. Built from high speed steel with an oxide finish, it runs a 137-degree split point that self-centers on entry and reduces the thrust needed to start the cut. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1-3/8-inch flute length, right-hand spiral, and two flutes ground to ANSI specification. The heavy-duty grade construction makes it a practical choice for production drilling where bit longevity under repeated use matters.
This bit is suited for drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and other shop materials where a No. 27 wire gauge hole is required. The jobber-length format fits standard three-jaw drill chucks on corded drills, drill presses, and milling machines. The split point geometry eliminates the need for a center punch on most flat or lightly curved surfaces, speeding up cycle time in production and maintenance settings. It is a common choice for machinists, maintenance mechanics, and toolroom technicians.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit compatible with any three-jaw drill chuck sized to accept a 0.1440-inch shank, including hand drills, drill presses, and milling machine setups requiring No. 27 wire gauge holemaking.
Install and remove this bit only with the drill or press powered off and fully stopped. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck using a chuck key before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend bit life and maintain hole quality. Wear eye protection at all times when drilling.
