The HERTEL H95006118 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 19 (0.1660 inches decimal equivalent). It features a 137-degree split point that reduces walking on entry and lowers the thrust force needed to start a hole. The oxide and TiN coating extends surface hardness and helps resist heat buildup during drilling. With an overall length of 3.25 inches and a flute length of 1.625 inches, this bit fits standard 3-jaw chucks on drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machining centers. It is designed for heavy-duty holemaking applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling tasks where consistent hole quality at the No. 19 wire gauge diameter is required. Typical applications include pilot holes for tapping, clearance holes for fasteners, and precision drilling in sheet metal, structural steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The right-hand spiral flute design pulls chips out of the hole during conventional drilling, making it practical for both through-hole and blind-hole work in shop or field environments. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, maintenance technicians, and pipefitters commonly use this size.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit conforming to ANSI specifications, compatible with any 3-jaw or collet chuck sized to accept a shank for a No. 19 wire gauge drill on drill presses, hand drills, and CNC equipment.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should select the appropriate spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material before drilling. Secure the workpiece fully before starting the spindle, and ensure the chuck is tightened and the bit runs true to avoid breakage. Do not use lubricant-free high-speed passes on hardened steels without verifying the material is within the HSS cutting range. Inspect the cutting edges and coating before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
