The HERTEL H59875872 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured to the TPGH322 standard, this uncoated insert features a 60-degree triangular geometry with an 11-degree relief angle and a 1/32 inch (0.0310 inch) corner radius. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) and the insert thickness is 1/8 inch (0.1270 inch). Rated to material grade C25, it is suited for machining a range of workpiece materials where an uncoated carbide edge is preferred. Screw-type holding secures the insert firmly in compatible boring bar pockets.
This insert is used in internal boring, light turning, and finishing applications in metalworking environments. Its triangular TPGH-style geometry is commonly selected for close-tolerance bore finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining will find this insert applicable across a wide range of bore diameters where a compact, rigid insert geometry is required. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the boring bar or toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion has ceased before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and runout control.
