The HERTEL H59875641 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured to TPCG insert style standards with a grade of HC620B, this insert features a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiN, TiC, TiCN, and TiN that provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The 60-degree triangular geometry offers three usable cutting edges per insert. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches, a thickness of 0.127 inches, and a corner radius of 0.031 inches, this insert suits finish to semi-finish boring applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
This insert is suited for use in boring bars and toolholders configured for TPCG-style screw-clamp retention with a left-hand cutting orientation. The HC620B grade and CVD multilayer coating make it well suited for machining cast iron, steel alloys, and similar C7 material-grade applications in production environments. Typical users include machinists and CNC operators running internal diameter finishing passes where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required. The 11-degree relief angle reduces rubbing and supports clean chip evacuation in blind and through-bore applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for toolholders and boring bars accepting TPCG322 screw-clamp inserts with a left-hand cutting configuration. Manufacturers catalog number for this insert is TPCG322L.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down, spindle locked, and all energy sources isolated per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw to avoid micro-movement during cuts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before indexing to a fresh cutting edge. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw, as over-tightening can fracture the carbide substrate.
