The HERTEL H59875633 is a solid carbide boring insert in the TPCG322 style, designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual turning machines. It carries the HP520B manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating, which improves surface hardness and extends tool life on ferrous materials. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape, an 11-degree relief angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. At 1/8 inch thick, it is held in place by a screw-clamp method. Material grade C5 makes it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing cuts in steel and cast iron. Installation and tooling setup is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This insert is intended for left-hand boring bar holders configured for TPCG-style inserts. Typical applications include internal diameter finishing on lathes and boring mills in job shop, production machining, and maintenance-repair environments. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 1/32-inch corner radius suit applications requiring close tolerances and smooth bore finishes. The TiN coating provides reduced friction and improved chip evacuation during continuous cuts in steel and ductile iron workpieces.
Designed for use in left-hand boring bar holders accepting TPCG-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and screw-clamp retention. Refer to the toolholder manufacturer specifications to confirm insert pocket geometry and clamping compatibility before use.
Insert seating and replacement should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to avoid over-torquing the clamp screw or cracking the insert. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Proper edge orientation for a left-hand holder must be confirmed before resuming cuts.
