The HERTEL H59875476 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Conforming to TPCG insert style with a 60-degree triangular included angle and HP520B grade, this insert features a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) TiN coating over a C5 carbide substrate. Key dimensional specs include a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 1/8-inch thickness, and a 0.007-inch corner radius with an 11-degree relief angle. It is screw-held and left-hand oriented, making it suited for specific boring bar configurations. Machinists and toolroom technicians specify this insert for controlled material removal with tight tolerances.
This insert is intended for boring and internal turning applications in metalworking environments, including job shops, production machining facilities, and maintenance toolrooms. The TPCG insert style with left-hand designation fits compatible left-hand boring bars and holders using screw-lock clamping. The TiN coating extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where moderate cutting speeds are used. The C5 material grade is appropriate for general-purpose machining of steel and cast iron. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for left-hand boring bars and holders accepting TPCG-style screw-lock inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Manufacturers catalog number TPCG3205L can be used for cross-reference purposes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered off and the spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key driver to seat the clamping screw to the tool manufacturer's specified torque for the holder in use. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Do not force the insert into the pocket; confirm left-hand orientation and alignment before tightening.
