The HERTEL H59875187 is a solid carbide triangular boring insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC and manual boring equipment. Manufactured to the TD6P2 style in grade HC620B, this insert features a 60-degree included angle and a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiC, TiCN, and TiN for extended tool life and thermal resistance. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 1/32-inch corner radius make it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous materials classified under C7 material grade. The insert is held in place by a screw-on mounting method and carries an 11-degree relief angle for reduced cutting forces. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is used in boring bars and indexable toolholders configured for TD6P-style triangular inserts. Typical applications include internal diameter boring of steel and cast iron workpieces in both manual and CNC lathe setups. The 1/8-inch thickness and 0.1300-inch hole diameter are consistent with standard small-to-medium boring bar holders. Sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop stock replenishment as well as toolcrib programs in production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and stock insert for boring bars and indexable toolholders accepting TD6P-style triangular inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and screw-on mounting.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver or wrench for the insert clamping screw to ensure proper seating without cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
