The HERTEL H59875112 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured to the TD6P1 insert style and graded HT540B, this uncoated carbide insert features a 60-degree included angle in a triangular shape, a 1/64 inch (0.0150 inch) corner radius, and a 3/8 inch inscribed circle diameter. At 0.1270 inch thick and 0.03 pounds, it is a compact, rigid cutting tool suited for tight-tolerance bore finishing. The uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for applications where coatings could affect dimensional accuracy or where dry cutting conditions are preferred.
This insert is used in boring bars and insert holders that accept screw-held TD6P-style triangular inserts. It is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials in light to medium roughing and finishing passes on turning centers and boring mills. Machinists working in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments will find this insert appropriate for achieving consistent bore geometry and surface finish. It is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in boring bars and insert holders that accept TD6P-style screw-held triangular inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle. Verify holder seat geometry and screw thread compatibility before installation.
Installation of carbide boring inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver and manufacturer-specified clamping screw to seat the insert firmly against the pocket; over-tightening or under-tightening the clamping screw can cause insert movement or fracture. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
