The HERTEL H59875021 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual turning equipment. Manufactured to the TD6P05 insert style in the HT540B grade, this triangular insert features a 60-degree included angle and an 11-degree relief angle, making it suitable for general-purpose boring where dimensional accuracy and tool life are priorities. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches, thickness is 0.127 inches, and the corner radius is 0.007 inches. Screw-style insert holding keeps the insert securely located in the pocket. The uncoated finish is appropriate for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and other applications where an uncoated carbide grade performs best.
This insert is used in internal boring bars and boring heads on lathes and machining centers in production and job-shop environments. The TD6P05 geometry and HT540B carbide grade target moderate cutting conditions. Typical installers are machinists and CNC operators performing finish or semi-finish boring passes where tight tolerances and controlled corner geometry are required. The 60-degree triangle shape provides three usable cutting edges per insert, reducing per-edge tooling cost.
Designed as a replacement or replenishment insert for boring bars and boring heads that accept TD6P05-style triangular inserts with screw-style holding and a 0.130-inch hole diameter.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the tool manufacturer's specified torque - refer to the boring bar manufacturer's documentation, not this insert listing. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating the insert. Never force the insert into the pocket; a properly matched insert should seat flush with light hand pressure before screw engagement.
