The HERTEL H59874941 is a solid carbide boring insert in the TD6P01 style, manufactured to grade HT410B. This uncoated, bright-finish insert features a 60-degree triangular geometry with an 11-degree relief angle, a 0.002-inch corner radius, and a 3/8-inch inscribed circle diameter. At 0.127 inches thick and weighing approximately 0.03 pounds, it is designed for precision boring operations in CNC and manual machining applications. The screw-holding method provides secure clamping in compatible toolholders. It suits machinists and tooling specialists working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a C2-grade carbide insert is appropriate.
This insert is used in boring bars and toolholders that accept TD6P-style indexable inserts. It is well suited for light-to-medium duty internal boring on lathes and machining centers in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The uncoated bright finish makes it a practical choice for applications where coated grades are not required or where re-grinding or close visual inspection of the cutting edge is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use indexable insert for boring bars and toolholders accepting TD6P-style triangular inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and screw-clamping retention.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver or wrench for the insert clamping screw to avoid fracturing the carbide body — do not overtighten by hand force alone. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
