The HERTEL H59874651 is a solid carbide boring insert in the TPCH style, designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It carries the HP520B manufacturer grade and features a physical vapor deposition (PVD) TiN coating for improved wear resistance and extended tool life on ferrous materials. The 60-degree triangular shape provides three usable cutting edges. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, a corner radius of 0.007 inches, and a thickness of 0.096 inches, this insert fits standard TPCH toolholders and is held in place by a screw-lock clamping system. It is sized for light to medium boring work and is well suited for machinists and toolroom professionals working to tight bore tolerances.
This insert is used in boring bars and internal turning toolholders configured for the TPCH insert style. It is appropriate for machining steel and cast iron workpieces where a C5 carbide grade and TiN coating deliver adequate hardness and thermal protection. Typical applications include finish boring of housings, bushings, and cylindrical bores in both job shop and production environments. The 11-degree relief angle provides clearance that reduces rubbing on the bore wall during light finishing cuts. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert, and verify correct index orientation before resuming cuts. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during installation.
