The HERTEL H59874172 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual machines. This triangular insert carries the TPCB222 style designation and is manufactured to grade HP520B with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) titanium nitride (TiN) coating that improves wear resistance and extends cutting life. The 60-degree included angle and 11-degree relief angle suit a range of bore finishing passes. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, the insert is suited to small-diameter boring work where dimensional precision is critical. It is installed using a screw-type insert holding method.
This insert is intended for use in boring bars and insert toolholders that accept TPCB-style triangular inserts. It is commonly applied in job-shop and production machining environments where steel and similar workpiece materials fall within the C5 carbide material grade range. The TiN coating and PVD process make it a practical choice for moderate cutting speeds on ferrous materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with small-bore components will find the 1/4-inch inscribed circle and screw-clamping design compatible with standard TPCB pocket tooling. Each package contains 1 insert. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for TPCB-style insert pockets accepting a 222 size code with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and screw-type clamping; verify toolholder pocket geometry and screw specification before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp screw to seat the insert fully in the pocket without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
