The HERTEL H59873729 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. This triangular insert features a 60-degree included angle and a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiC, TiCN, and TiN, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection across a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 0.007 inch corner radius and an inscribed circle diameter of 0.160 inches, this insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. It carries a material grade of C7, making it appropriate for machining cast iron and nonferrous materials. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and toolroom technicians using standard screw-clamp toolholders.
This insert is intended for right-hand boring bar applications in production and job-shop environments. The TDHH insert style and 15-degree relief angle provide adequate clearance for internal diameter work in tight-bore conditions. The CVD multilayer coating extends tool life compared to uncoated carbide when cutting abrasive or high-temperature materials.
