The HERTEL H59873422 is a solid carbide boring insert designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured in a 60-degree triangle (TDHB) geometry, this insert features a 0.007-inch corner radius and a 5/32-inch (0.1563-inch) inscribed circle diameter. At 3/64 inch (0.0469 inches) thick with a 15-degree relief angle, it is engineered for clean, controlled material removal in tight-tolerance bore applications. The uncoated carbide construction in material grade C1 suits applications where a base substrate is preferred or where coating is not required by the job. Screw-in insert holding method ensures secure seating during cutting. This insert is sold individually and carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
This boring insert is suited for light-to-medium internal turning and boring work on metal components. The TDHB style triangular insert geometry is commonly used in production machining environments where consistent bore geometry and surface finish are critical. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials in close-tolerance bore diameters will find this insert appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes. The uncoated grade HT540B carbide is selected for applications that demand a sharp, predictable cutting edge without the added variables of a coating layer.
Designed as a replacement or replenishment insert for compatible TDHB-style boring bar holders that accept a 5/32-inch inscribed circle, 60-degree triangular solid carbide insert with screw-in retention.
Installation of boring inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw and ensure the insert pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the boring bar or holder manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for this insert geometry.
