The HERTEL H59870691 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built on the HBBS toolholder style, it features a 3/4 inch shank diameter and an overall length of 10 inches. The minimum bore diameter is 0.855 inches, with a maximum bore depth of 8 inches. The insert is secured by a screw-clamp holding method, providing rigid, repeatable positioning under cutting loads. Coolant-through capability is included, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in deep-bore applications. This bar is installed and set up by machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments.
This boring bar suits right-hand cut internal operations where tight bore tolerances and surface finish are required. Its solid carbide construction provides the stiffness needed for deep reach relative to bore diameter, reducing chatter in finish and semi-finish passes. It is appropriate for use on CNC turning centers and horizontal machining centers handling ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The HBBS-C750R5-10.0-855 configuration is suited to applications requiring a compact entry diameter with extended reach depth.
Accepts TD and TP series indexable inserts as specified by the manufacturer. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit toolholder for machines accepting a 3/4 inch round shank boring bar.
Installation and setup should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the shank fully within the tool block or boring bar holder to the depth recommended by the machine manufacturer before initiating a cut. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an E-stop or locked-out state before changing inserts or adjusting the bar position. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 8 inches or operate beyond the insert manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters.
