The HERTEL H59869925 is a steel indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on metal workpieces. Built to the HBBQ toolholder style, it accepts TPC-style inserts held in place by a screw-clamp method, delivering consistent repeatability at the insert seat. The bar features a right-hand cut orientation, a 0.5 inch shank diameter, and a 3.75 inch overall length. Coolant-through capability is integrated into the design, supporting chip evacuation and heat control at the cutting zone. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-setters working on lathes and boring mills are the primary installers of this toolholder.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore applications in job shop, production, and tool-room environments. The 0.438 inch minimum bore diameter makes it appropriate for tight-bore finish passes and semi-finish operations in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. With a maximum bore depth of 1.125 inches, it covers the majority of short through-bore and blind-bore scenarios found in lathe and machining-center work. The 0.75 inch height and 0.75 inch width cross-section, combined with the 0.5 inch shank, fit standard boring bar holders and turret pockets on most small-to-medium CNC lathes.
Designed for use with TPC-style indexable inserts. Fits standard 0.5 inch boring bar holders and turret pockets. Compatible inserts are secured via screw-clamp method per the HBBQ toolholder style specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the control placed in an e-stop or lockout state before mounting or removing the boring bar. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the minimum engagement depth recommended by your toolholder manufacturer before taking a cut. Verify insert seating and screw torque per the insert manufacturer's specification before running at full depth of cut or feed rate.
