The HERTEL H59869875 is a steel indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to toolholder style HBBQ with a right-hand cut orientation, it accepts TPC-style inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method. The shank diameter is 3/8 inches, overall length is 5 inches, and the minimum bore diameter is 0.438 inches. Coolant-through capability is included, making it suitable for applications that require chip evacuation and thermal management during deep boring passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore internal machining in production and job-shop environments. With a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches and a shank cross-section of 0.5 inches by 0.5 inches, it fits tight-clearance bores where rigidity and reach must be balanced. The right-hand cut configuration is standard for conventional lathe spindle rotation. It is appropriate for use in both light finishing passes and moderate material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed to accept TPC-style indexable inserts. Uses the HBBQ toolholder style. Verify insert geometry and grade selection against the workpiece material before use.
Installation is performed by machining professionals familiar with lathe toolholding systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret or tool post is locked before installing or changing inserts. Torque the insert-retaining screw using the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the insert manufacturer. Confirm boring bar shank is clamped squarely and at proper centerline height before initiating a cut.
