The HERTEL H08700205 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for internal threading operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built in the HSIR series, this right-hand toolholder accepts 16IR threading inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method. The shank measures 0.75 inches in diameter and the tool runs 7 inches in overall length, making it suited for reaching into bores with a minimum diameter of 0.9 inches. The center-to-cutting-edge dimension is 0.51 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians use this holder for producing internal threads in a range of workpiece materials and bore depths.
This toolholder is configured for internal threading in production and job-shop turning environments. The HSIR-0750-7-16 style designation places it in applications requiring a 3/4-inch round shank with a neck diameter matching the shank at 0.75 inches. The 0.9-inch minimum bore diameter and back-of-bar-to-cutting-edge distance of 0.9 inches define the practical reach envelope. No coolant-through feature is present, so external coolant delivery should be used when chip evacuation or heat management is required during threading cycles.
Designed to accept 16IR series threading inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with lathe tooling systems that accept a 3/4-inch round shank boring bar holder. No additional compatible model numbers or systems were specified in the product data.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret or toolpost is locked before changing or indexing inserts. Secure the shank in the boring bar holder to the tool manufacturer's recommended engagement depth and verify the insert is fully seated and the clamp screw is tightened before resuming cuts. Follow facility lockout/tagout procedures before any tooling changeout on live equipment.
