The HERTEL H05767264 is a laydown threading insert designed for external Acme thread cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from solid carbide in the HG330TR grade, it carries a TiC/TiN multilayer coating that extends tool life in both ferrous and non-ferrous threading applications. The insert follows the 16ER style geometry, cuts at 16 threads per inch, and seats into a compatible ER-style laydown toolholder. With a 0 degree relief angle and a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, it is a direct fit for standard Acme threading operations requiring a right-hand cutting orientation. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for producing right-hand external Acme threads at 16 TPI on materials ranging from mild steel to aluminum in production and job-shop environments. The Acme thread form is common in lead screws, jacks, and linear motion hardware, making this insert a regular selection for shops producing power-transmission components. It performs in both roughing and finishing passes when matched to the correct toolholder and cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for 16ER-style laydown threading toolholders configured for external Acme thread applications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct insert screw and torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify insert seating and thread pitch with a thread gauge before running the first part.
