The HERTEL H05766258 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for internal partial profile threading operations on lathes and turning centers. Carrying the manufacturer grade HG220TR with a PVD-applied TiN coating, this insert is built for right-hand internal thread cutting across a range of thread pitches from 48 to 16 threads per inch (0.50 mm to 1.50 mm pitch). The 08IRA55 style insert seats in standard laydown toolholders and delivers consistent thread form geometry on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. It is sized with a 3/16 inch inscribed circle and measures 0.087 inches thick. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in production and job-shop threading applications where controlled cutting geometry and coating durability are required.
This insert is suited for internal threading on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment using compatible 08IR-style laydown toolholders. The 55-degree partial profile geometry covers unified, metric, and other 55-degree thread forms within the 48-16 TPI range. Typical applications include threading of bores in hydraulic fittings, fluid connectors, and precision machined components. The TiN finish adds wear resistance and helps extend cutting life across medium to high production volumes. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use in standard 08IR-style laydown threading toolholders that accept a 3/16 inch inscribed circle insert. Confirm toolholder seat and clamp compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC turning technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing the insert. Use the correct torque on the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert seat and clamping pocket for chips or debris before securing the insert, as contamination can affect seating accuracy and thread quality.
