The HERTEL H-81154L05040 is a combination drill and countersink designed for creating pilot holes and countersunk seats in a single pass. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool features a 7/16 inch body diameter and a 3/16 inch drill point diameter. The 118-degree drill point angle delivers clean entry geometry, while the 82-degree included angle on the countersink portion produces standard flat-head fastener seats. At 4 inches overall length, it is classified as a long-length tool and is suited for applications where reach or clearance is a factor. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians install this type of tooling in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drill motors.
This combo drill countersink is intended for countersinking applications in metal fabrication, general machining, and maintenance repair operations. The plain cutting edge style and double end type provide straightforward setup with standard toolholders. Trade size 5 designates the screw size the countersink is designed to seat. The long-length designation makes it suitable for deep-reach setups or fixtures where a standard-length tool lacks adequate clearance. It is not an aircraft-style tool and is not tapered, making it appropriate for conventional flat-head fastener installations in commercial and industrial environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute combo drill countersink for trade size 5 applications in standard drill chucks and toolholders accepting a 7/16 inch body diameter shank.
This tooling is installed and serviced by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard drill chucks or collet-style toolholders. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing or inspecting tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality. Inspect the cutting edges before each use — high-speed steel tools are susceptible to chipping if used on hardened materials beyond their rated range.
