The HERTEL GG99914169 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is manufactured from M7 high speed steel and features 6 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, a right-hand cut, and right-hand flute direction. The cutter diameter measures 1.375 inches with a 1-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 6.5 inches. The length of cut is 4 inches, making it well suited for full-depth slotting, peripheral milling, and profile work where extended reach is not required. This is an uncoated tool intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is appropriate for milling applications in general machining, tool rooms, and production shops. The 6-flute geometry provides a higher number of cutting edges than standard 4-flute tools, which supports better surface finish and faster feed rates in appropriate materials. The regular-length classification and non-centercutting design make it best suited for side milling, peripheral passes, and slotting from the side rather than plunge cutting. It is a standard configuration used across a wide range of CNC and manual knee-mill setups.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 1-inch straight shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock holders sized for 1-inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the tool holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish. Because this is a non-centercutting end mill, do not program or attempt axial plunge entry — use ramp or helical entry strategies instead.
