The HERTEL EM249016 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter and a 0.75 inch length of cut, this tool delivers controlled material removal in profiling, contouring, and slotting applications. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is a single-end tool intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC mills and manual milling machines.
This end mill is suited for job shop, production machining, and toolroom environments where close-tolerance profiling is required. It performs well in hardened steels, stainless alloys, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials where AlTiN coating provides a performance advantage over uncoated tooling. With a 0.25 inch shank diameter and 2.5 inch overall length, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 0.25 inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder to the recommended gauge depth and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut.
