The HERTEL E699924739 is a single-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, slots, and complex 3D profiles in metal and composite workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for demanding cutting applications. The 0.5 inch diameter cutting end pairs with a 1 inch length of cut and a 30-degree right-hand helix, promoting efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. A TiN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tooling professionals.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose and production milling operations in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and tool rooms. The 3-flute geometry balances chip clearance with rigidity, making it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC setups. With a 0.5 inch shank diameter and 3 inch overall length, this tool fits directly into standard collets and end mill holders without requiring adapters in most setups.
Designed as a standard-shank ball end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and milling machines equipped with 0.5 inch collets or end mill holders accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention system to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and should not be dropped or impacted against hard surfaces.
