The HERTEL E699924524 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter and a 0.5-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers consistent performance in profiling, contouring, and finishing cuts. The four-flute configuration improves chip evacuation and surface finish compared to two-flute designs. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating reduces friction and increases surface hardness, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Overall length is 2.0 inches with a 0.25-inch shank diameter. This tool is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
This ball end mill suits CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and benchtop milling machines in both production and prototype settings. It is well suited for 3D contouring, slot milling, and finishing passes in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional vertical mills and machining centers. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and set-screw tool holders commonly found in shop inventories.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill replacement for standard 0.25-inch shank tooling positions in vertical CNC machining centers and manual mills using ER collets, end mill holders, or set-screw holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down or e-stop the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and torque the retention mechanism to the holder specification. Inspect the TiN coating and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use; a damaged edge on a carbide tool should not be run, as carbide is brittle and can fracture under interrupted cuts when compromised.
