The HERTEL E6252008 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.125 inch cutting diameter and a 0.25 inch length of cut, this tool handles contour milling, slotting, and profiling in tight geometries. The double-end configuration extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating reduces friction and increases surface hardness, improving wear resistance in production environments. Four right-hand flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on finished surfaces. The 3/16 inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling applications.
The E6252008 suits applications requiring small-diameter ball profiling, such as die cavities, mold work, and detailed 3D contouring. The 2 inch overall length allows access to moderately deep features without excessive overhang. The solid carbide construction maintains rigidity at small diameters, reducing deflection during finishing passes. This end mill is appropriate for use in vertical machining centers and CNC mills where close-tolerance surface work is required.
Designed as a standard double-end ball end mill with a 3/16 inch shank, compatible with collet-style toolholders used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines that accept this shank size.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using standard collet toolholders rated for the 3/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to full depth. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before beginning cuts, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to runout-induced breakage. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
