The HERTEL E6249016 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surface work in metalworking and machining applications. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials at elevated speeds. The 0.25 inch diameter cutting head and 0.75 inch length of cut make it well suited for tight-radius passes and shallow-to-medium depth pocketing. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating reduces friction and extends tool life compared to uncoated carbide. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill fits residential machine shops, production floors, and toolrooms where small-diameter profiling work is routine. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills using a 0.25 inch collet or end mill holder. The 2.5 inch overall length suits most standard tool holders without requiring extended-reach adapters. Machinists working aluminum, mild steel, alloy steel, and similar materials will find the TiN coating provides a useful performance advantage over bare carbide in moderate-to-high feed-rate operations.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.25 inch shank end mill holder or collet. No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this part number.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Before changing tooling, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout on small-diameter carbide tools increases the risk of breakage.
