The HERTEL E6249012 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hardened material applications. Ground from solid carbide stock and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction compared to uncoated high-speed steel alternatives. The mill measures 0.1875 inches in diameter with a 0.625-inch length of cut, a 2-inch overall length, and a 3/16-inch shank diameter. Two right-hand flutes with right-hand cutting direction make this tool a standard choice for CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring tight-radius profiling and contour work.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. Its compact 0.1875-inch diameter makes it well-matched to small-feature profiling, slot milling, and 3D contouring in mold-making, die work, and precision part production. The solid carbide construction supports higher spindle speeds and feeds than HSS tooling, and the TiN coating extends cutting edge life in abrasive materials. Machinists and CNC programmers working with small-envelope parts will find the geometry and length of cut appropriate for shallow cavity and contour work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines accepting a 3/16-inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the equipment manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tooling.
