The HERTEL E6062901 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, slots, and complex 3D profiles. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter and four flutes, it delivers smooth material removal and fine surface finishes across a wide range of metals and engineering materials. The TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in production environments. The single-end configuration directs all cutting forces through a rigid solid carbide body, making it well suited for high-speed machining centers and manual CNC operations alike. Machinists and toolroom professionals install and use this end mill.
This end mill is used in machining operations that require ball-nose geometry, including die and mold work, profiling, finishing passes on hardened materials, and 3D contouring. The 1.5 inch length of cut (LOC) accommodates moderate-depth pocketing and side-wall milling. The 6 inch overall length (OAL) provides reach into deeper cavities while maintaining a 0.25 inch shank diameter for compatibility with standard collet systems. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed for use in standard 0.25 inch collet holders and end mill adapters on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a single-end, right-hand ball nose end mill with a 0.25 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended grip length before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use, and verify spindle speed and feed parameters in the CAM program or machining handbook before beginning a cut.
