The HERTEL E599924668 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, alloy, and composite materials. With a 12 mm (0.4724 inch) cutting diameter and a 16 mm (0.6299 inch) length of cut, this tool delivers consistent chip evacuation and dimensional accuracy across a range of machining applications. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces cutting forces. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals and applications where coating buildup is a concern. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, toolrooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its 12 mm shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for direct collet or end mill holder mounting without a reduction sleeve. The regular-length configuration and right-hand cutting and flute direction are standard for the majority of CNC milling setups. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece where required. The micrograin carbide grade supports higher surface speeds and extended tool life compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed as a standard-shank solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or similar toolholding systems accepting a 12 mm straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is clean and free of debris before mounting. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum insertion depth per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and confirm cutting parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine capability.
